On 20 June 2024, ROSA’s production facility was visited by 15 talented artists and teachers from various cities in Ukraine — Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv. The creative group arrived accompanied by talented watercolour artist Natalia Kupchik to personally learn about the process of creating art materials that inspire them to create new works every day.
During the tour, artists Yevgeniya Marampolska, Tatyana Kovaleva, Nina Tkachova, Marina Vasilyeva, Yulia Prokopchuk, Tatyana Chistyakova, Tatyana Volovik, Elena Shepotko, Tatyana Ushakova, Oksana Vikhota, Elena Shestopalova, Victoria Larchenko, Olena Petuykina, and Vira Prokopenko went through the entire production process of ROSA products together with our team.
The artists learned about the complete cycle of creating professional watercolour, acrylic, oil and gouache paints:
– research and selection of raw materials and ingredients;
– the process of developing formulas;
– development of test samples in the laboratory;
– direct production;
– quality control of manufactured products;
– labelling and packaging of paints in production workshops.
The demonstration of manual paint production was particularly interesting — participants tried to make Hinacridone Lilac watercolour using a clock, as artists did in past centuries, and compared it with the colour produced industrially. This experience provided a deeper understanding of the technological processes and complexity involved in creating each tube of paint.
The artists also had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the entire production cycle in the woodworking shop. Our guests watched with fascination as the traditional process of making painting bases was carried out and saw for themselves how much manual work goes into each ROSA canvas.
During their visit to the ROSA office, participants met with employees from the R&D department, where new ideas are born, innovative products are developed, and the direction for the development of our line of materials is formed. Artists tested the full range of watercolour paints and various types of brushes, and also had the opportunity to voice their own wishes regarding new products.
