Our partner Olya Yatsenko is an artist and illustrator from Kyiv, author of the books “Pukhnastyky. A Storybook” and “The Fifth Side of the World”. The artist graduated from the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture with a degree in architectural design.
“My primary source of inspiration is nature and everything around me. Through my art, I express the importance of enjoying every moment of life and appreciating what we have. I paint magical worlds that are filled with their own deep meaning. I believe that art has the incredible power to make the world a better place,” says Olya Yatsenko.
The artist’s works are characterized by their delicate and vibrant colours. They convey a sense of calmness and movement simultaneously, creating a unique atmosphere that resonates with viewers and encourages them to engage in a dialogue with both the painting and their inner selves. Some of Olya’s works focus on travel, celebrating the diversity and beauty of our planet, while others are dedicated to the magical world of Pokhnastykiv. The paintings are rich in depth and meaning, each holding meaning that everyone will discover in their own way. They are about friendship, kindness, faithful love, sincerity of feelings, love for nature, fun travels, and exciting adventures.
The artist uses oil paint in her work, and some works can combine various materials and techniques to achieve unique textures, effects, and a sense of movement in the paintings.
She has created art for her own projects and various companies, including Viber (Ukrainian “Violet” stickers), colouring books for Amazon, etc.
She has participated in over ten solo exhibitions and many group exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Her paintings are part of private collections worldwide: Ukraine, Poland, the UAE, Canada, France, Italy, Turkey, the USA, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
