Each watercolour painting is a unique story, which the artist tells with thin layers of colour, creating a soft, sophisticated world that radiates calmness and warm-heartedness.
On 31 October, the grand opening of the fifth all-Ukrainian and international exhibition ‘Sea of Watercolours’, organised by artist Anatolii and Viktoriia Kravchenko, took place in Kyiv.
The exhibition features about 200 watercolour works by Ukrainian and foreign artists from 40 countries.
Among them there are incredible works by outstanding, professional artists and beginning artists whose works are distinguished by their novelty and authenticity.
On 12 November, the exhibition will open as usual in Odesa at the Museum of Western and Eastern Art. The head of the Odesa regional organisation of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatolii Horbenko said: ‘The city soaked in sunlight is the cradle of this exquisite technique.’
The curator of the Biennale, People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatolii Kravchenko, emphasized that the exhibition has a retrospective character, showing the development of the watercolour genre.

This year, the exhibition ‘Sea of Watercolours’ was dedicated to the memory of the People’s Artist of Ukraine Halyna Kravchenko, who passed away prematurely. In previous years, the outstanding artist was the organiser of the exhibition.
In Kyiv, the exhibition will be open until 17 November at the Central House of the Artists of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, located in Lviv Square.
In Odesa on 12-27 November at the Museum of Western and Eastern Art.
